ANTIQUE AUTHENTIC FISHERMAN'S WHARF CRAB POT - $1,700 (San Luis Obispo)

Antique ORIGINAL and VERY RARE Fisherman's Wharf whole crab cooking pot from the early 19th Century.
This approx.
300 year old copper pot was used to boil live crabs at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, Ca.
where I purchased it.
The pot is hand crafted/hammered using the age-old method of hand notching (dovetailing) the seams and soldering the seam joints by hand.
This antique pot shows this method on the entire side and bottom.
It retains the original handmade copper removable screen at the original valve on the original coated inside surface.
This pot is massive measuring approx.
18" in diameter and 19 1/2" high and weighs approx.
40 pounds.
This beautiful and very rare piece of San Francisco history also functions nicely as a side table by simply putting a round glass top on it as I have done for the past 45 years.
The pot is located in San Luis Obispo.
