* *About PHP/UCP* Parents Helping Parents of San Luis Obispo Family Resource Center (PHP) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing resources and support to families of children with special needs, developmental disabilities, and learning delays throughout San Luis Obispo County.
We are a local Family Resource Center (FRC) and a member of the Family Resource Center Network of California (FRCNCA), as well as a Family Empowerment Center (FEC) under the California Department of Education.
PHP's mission is to empower children with special needs to reach their fullest potential by strengthening families through parent and professional education, mutual support, referral networks, and community awareness.
PHP is an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy of SLO County, an organization committed to creating opportunities that facilitate independence, personal growth, and full community participation for people with disabilities.
*Director Description* *This is a full-time, benefitted position.
This position is on-site within San Luis Obispo County, except for required in-person meetings and conferences.
* The Director plays a pivotal role in leading the day-to-day operations of our organization, ensuring its effective leadership and seamless program delivery.
In this position, the Director secures the necessary financial resources for the organization's growth and sustainability.
This includes the management of contracts, grants, partnerships, memorandums of understanding (MOUs), and other tangible and intangible resources.
The Director oversees the administration and implementation of our services, and is responsible for driving the organization's efficient functioning, strategic planning, staff supervision, fiscal management, grant and fund development, legislative engagement and education.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* *Program Administration* * Monitor contracts to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services and reporting requirements.
* Monitor team performance, provide professional development opportunities, and report on metrics.
* Develop and implement plans to enhance PHP's service delivery.
* Serve as the liaison between grantors.
*Program Fund and Development* * Implement the work plans of all grants to deliver scope of work and ensure funding.
* Ensure efficient and sound financial management, with an ability to track multiple budgets.
* Maintain and expand funding sources, including sponsors, contracts, and grants.
* Participate in annual fundraisers at least once a year.
*Networking/Community Engagement* * Represent PHP at in-person and virtual meetings.
* Foster communication and collaboration with local partners to increase community awareness of PHP and its member organizations.
* Deliver program updates to United Cerebral Palsy as needed.
* Travel as required for training and conferences within the United States.
* Develop and maintain resources for the program.
* Collaborate with local, private, and state agencies to participate in professional committees and work groups.
*Human Resources Management and Development* * Supervise staff, encourage professional development, and monitor performance.
* Ensure prompt hiring of new staff and maintenance of staff levels.
*Family Resource Center Services* * Provide support by phone, email, and in-person at resource centers.
* Conduct training sessions through Zoom and in-person.
* Participate in staff meetings to enhance communication and teamwork.
* Address challenges, set goals, and share organizational updates.
* Manage a team of employees to ensure effective service delivery.
* Offer guidance, support, and performance management.
* Foster a positive work environment for staff.
*Non-Essential Functions* * Perform other related duties as assigned.
*JOB QUALIFICATIONS* *Required Education/Experience* * Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Social Work, Public Administration, Non-profit Management, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or another relevant discipline.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in management and leadership.
*Preferred Experience* * Knowledge of the State of CA Departments and Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
* Understanding of the CA Early Start Program, Early Intervention, Regional Center System, Social Services, Health Services, and Special Education Services.
* Knowledge of special education services.
* Experience overseeing nonprofit/public sector programs.
* Parents of an individual with I/DD or a family member of an individual with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
*Required Skills* * Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to monitor contracts, report on program progress, and ensure efficient financial management.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and situations.
* Competence and respect for cultural diversity, with the ability to work with staff and clients from various backgrounds.
* Demonstrated competency in providing family support and advocacy, including experience with IEP, IFSP, and IPP processes.
* Experience in community outreach, as well as the ability to facilitate communication and collaboration with local partners.
* Expert planning and organizational skills, including the ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project development.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including PowerPoint and Excel, as well as experience with various software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
* Willingness and ability to travel to conferences, meetings, and other events as needed, including overnight travel.
Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Ability to develop and maintain resources for the program.
* Understanding of the Delivery of Service System both locally and statewide.
*Certificates/Licenses/Clearances* * Background check clearance.
* A valid California driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to secure timely transportation to perform the essential functions of the job.
