So for $2500 you can buy this character's leftovers, or you could buy all that stuff literally brand new with warranties and take your family of four to Disneyland with the grand you have left.
Or you buy it all used and have close to $1500 left for a really nice guitar, or amp, or whatever.
Either way, while this person might be a decent human being in some other aspects of life, they're trying to cheat you on this.
