Looking for a payroll specialist and HR director for our office with extensive payroll training and accounting knowledge.
HR is a plus but we will help you get certified if you would like to be.
You will be in charge of assisting various clients with their payroll needs and some admin tasks.
You MUST be very detail oriented as entering numbers has to be precise.
Payroll is a very detail specific tax - if you are one that accidently types the wrong thing regularly do not apply.
You MUST have prior knowledge of prevailing wage, payroll taxes, benefits, deductions and know how to handle different payroll issues that come up with each client.
Our clients have so many different accounting scenarios that you must be able to work through with ease and know how to assist clients in what they may need.
Quickbooks knowledge is required or you need to have comprehensive training in another payroll/accounting system that allows you to transfer that knowledge to Quickbooks easily.
We cannot train you on the basics of Quickbooks.
Payroll laws including but not limited to overtime, sick, vacation, payroll taxes, quarterly and annual filings are required.
Our office is very tech heavy so you need to have good computer skills, understand e-mail systems, have good grammar, and know how to use MS Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
* Assist with multiple clients payroll needs
* Complete work comp audits
* Prepare quarterly and annual tax returns
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned
* Responsible for monthly payroll billing
* Responsible for misc admin skills, including e-mail, answering phones and scanning as needed
* Responsible for attending events to promote our growing business - commission available for all clients you bring into the firm
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Required: 2 years of Payroll experience
Desired: 5 years of Accounting experience
Education:
Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience working in payroll and payroll reports
Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes
Friendly and professional verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of various overtime, vacation and sick policies
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks
Must be independent - great time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate or ask for help when appropriate
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Displays a positive attitude and passion for serving our clients
