*Summary*: We are seeking an accounting specialist to join the team.
The role and responsibilities focus on the day-to-day completion of all financial accounts and administrative tasks such as accurate record keeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
The ability to independently complete responsibilities in a timely manner with regular reporting on tasks status or findings is essential.
This position reports to the Controller.
Opolo Wines, LP is an established family winery in Paso Robles, CA that produces and sells wines and distilled spirits.
*Essential duties and responsibilities:*
* Post direct to consumer (DTC) daily sales totals on a regular basis and document discrepancies.
* Reconcile DTC cash receipts and resolve cash receipt discrepancies with the team.
* Review and reconcile monthly merchant account activity.
* Review, post, and report on other sales, as needed.
* Report on total revenue trends weekly for both DTC and wholesale.
*Accounts payable and expense*
* Function as back-up for accounts payable posting and payment runs.
*Month end close, financial controls, and compliance*
* Document balance sheet reconciliations with a focus on comparing the financial statement records to external sources.
* Handle general ledger bookkeeping where necessary.
* Analyze and summarize data in support of compliance and tax reporting.
* Assist with analysis of physical versus book inventory and communicate findings to the team.
*Customer service*
* Assist Club members with wine pick-ups, answering phones calls, or at quarterly pick-up party, if needed.
*General*
* Assist with process documentation and automation.
* Look for and provide solutions for accounting irregularities.
* Perform other duties as needed.

*Qualifications:*
* Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields preferred or experience equivalent.
* Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records with excellent follow-through on projects.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize or reconcile data.
* Advanced user of database and spreadsheet tools, such as Excel and Power BI
* Knowledge of accounting software with QuickBooks a plus
* 5-10 years of experience required in an accounting role.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
* Can work independently and without supervision when required.
