Under the supervision of the Accountant, this half-time (20 hours per week) clerical position performs routine and repetitive clerical accounting functions involving balancing and reconciling.
Typical tasks include posting and balancing source documents to journals, subsidiary ledgers, and general ledger; reconciling bank accounts; preparing and verifying financial input data with accounting detail and summary reports; assisting in compiling and summarizing statistics and records used in the preparation of financial reports; and preparing claims, purchase orders and requisitions.

This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.
The Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role, the Senior Account Clerk must have the ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and decision making; have the capacity to consistently balance competing demands; be able to adjust quickly to changing priorities; and have experience with Excel, Word, and data entry systems.
Education and Experience A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
An example of qualifying education and experience includes: One year of experience as an Account Clerk or an equivalent position.

Pension Benefit and Employee Contribution Rates:The County's pension is a defined benefit plan that provides a guaranteed monthly pension payment for life based on your time in service, wages, and other factors.
The County is the primary contributor to the pension fund, but the health of the pension fund also depends on mandatory employee contributions.
Employees are required to pay a percentage of their base pay towards the pension fund, ranging from 5% to 19%.
