19six is currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our San Luis Obispo, CA office.

The Project Accountant is primarily responsible for carrying out all aspects of the monthly billing cycle; from coordinating billing with Project Managers, to preparation of consultant contracts, inputting monthly consultant expenses, oversight of collections, etc.
They may also be asked to provide additional support to the Financial Manager and Director of Finance as necessary.
While the position is based in our San Luis Obispo office, this individual will need to coordinate with employees across all of the other seven office locations.
Multitasking and attention to detail are critical skills for success in this role.
The person should be able to communicate in an articulate manner (both written & verbal), and be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.
*PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Coordination of monthly billing with over twenty project managers in a timely manner.
* Preparation of consultant contracts.
Previous experience using AIA software related to this is a plus, but not mandatory.
* Data entry of consultant expense accruals into software.
* AR management.
* Forecasting coordination.
* Review of internal proposal letters.
* Preparation of Owner AIA contracts on occasion.
* Other duties as assigned.
*DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE*
* HS diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred (combination of school and experience will be considered).
* 3+ years of experience in an accounting and/or customer billing preferred, but can train the right person.
* Experience in a professional services firm is a plus.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Teams); experience with accounting/ERP systems a plus.
* Strong written and verbal communication as well as problem-solving skills.
* Strong organization skills, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is a must.
* Excellent time management and ability to prioritize and multi-task is also a must.
* Reliable and personable; enjoys working with a wide range of other personalities and individuals.
