THEATRE AND DANCE - PART-TIME LECTURER POOL, THEATRE PROGRAM.
The Theatre and Dance Department, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in Theatre.
Positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2023-2024 academic year, which begins September 14, 2023.
Teaching assignments are contingent upon budget and enrollments.
Assignments may include teaching courses such as: Introduction to Theatre, Theatre History, Improvised Narratives, American Theatre and/or Topics in Diversity on the American Stage, World Drama, Rehearsal and Performance, Music Direction and Vocal Coaching, Stage Management, Production Management, Sound Design and Engineering, and Technologies in Design and Technical Production.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree plus relevant life-time experience is a minimum requirement for those teaching activity or lab sections.
Candidates for lecture classes must have at least a Master's degree (e.
g.
, MA, MFA).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to those with university-level teaching experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment.
