Teaching Assistant

We invite you to join our professional team! The Department of State Hospitals-Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout the State of California.
The *Teaching Assistant* will be administratively supervised by the Assistant Chief, Education of Recovery Mall Services and clinically supervised by a teacher, vocational instructor or ACE in the Recovery Mall Services at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH).
The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to: • Assists the teacher and/or instructor with presenting lessons and other classroom or day treatment program activities in individual or group settings • Assists staff in the counting, distribution, and accounting for all tools and items • Attends administrative and professional staff meetings • Staff development activities • Recovery Mall Services meetings • Discipline-specific professional development programs *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* *Education:* Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
