I have an immediate need for an in-home bilingual (Spanish & English) ESL Elementary teacher in Los Osos about 2 blocks north of the Ralphs Shopping Center.
The tutor must be bilingual in Spanish & English as this is an ESL student who is far below grade level.
The student is in 10th grade but is at a kindergarten level.
The tutor will need to work with her on elementary basics.
The student has had no formal education and is currently at about a kindergarten level.
There are no assigned disabilities, the student is just lacking formal education.
Her native language is Spanish and her dialect is a bit different as she is from a small town.
As she is at a kindergarten level she will be learning the basics including abc's, numbers, colors, etc.
The caseworker and the school will be able to supply materials.
The student will need encouragement to progress.
She is with other students at a 10th grade level and it can be very daunting for her to be this far behind academically.
The family wants 1 hour sessions once a week on Thursday between 4:30pm-8pm.
*Job Requirements*
* Tutor must be willing to work in-person, face to face at the student's home in Los Osos about 2 blocks north of the Ralphs Shopping Center.
* Tutor must be bilingual in Spanish & English.
* Tutor must be available for 1 hour sessions once a week on Thursday between 4:30pm-8pm.
* Minimal travel required to meet with student (you decide the distance you are willing to travel, typically 5-10 miles)
* Due to insurance requirements applicants must not be a minor.
