Job Summary The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a full-time vacancy at Laguna Middle School, and to create an eligibility list for future Library Media Center Technician vacancies within the San Luis Coastal Unified School District.
The eligibility list created will be used to fill vacancies that occur throughout the district over a six month period, and may be either full time or part-time, and may be on a different work calendar than the current vacancy.
Library Media Center Technicians at SLCUSD perform a variety of technical and specialized library duties in an elementary school, middle school, high school, or continuation school library media center, assist teachers and students in using library materials and technology resources, assist students in library and computer skills, and perform related duties as assigned.

Candidates must meet minimum qualification criteria, and submit all required documents and information, in order to proceed in the recruitment process.
Certificate Copy (REQUIRED before end of probationary period - Library Technology Certificate or California Services Credential) Copy of Transcript (AA Degree or college coursework equivalent to 60 semester units and course work in Library Technology required; BA Degree preferred) Letter(s) of Recommendation (At least 1 signed letter from a professional reference (preferably drafted within the past two years, and on letterhead)) Resume Comments and Other Information Fingerprint and TB clearances will be required before hire.
Work calendar and hours may vary for future vacancies in this classification.
Candidates interested in being considered for full-time or part-time opportunities as a Library Media Center Technician should apply now, as the eligibility list created from this recruitment may be used to fill any vacancies for the classification that occur over a six-month period.

The date of oral board interviews is TBD.
EXAM INFORMATION: A) 40% - Candidates should allow approximately 1.
5 hours for the examination.
Minimum passing score is 70%.
Applicants will be notified of their score on the exam, and their eligibility to continue to the oral interview, via email .
B) 60% - An oral interview, 25-30 minutes, covering personal qualifications, experience, and training.
Minimum passing score is 70.
Applicants will be contacted, via email, regarding their rank on the eligibility list.
The top three ranks on the eligibility list will be invited to a hiring interview, date TBD.
SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process.
2) Applicants with disabilities need to notify the Personnel Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing.
3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview.
A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces or National Guard in time of war, or national emergency.
4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months from the qualifying interviews.
