50 per hour DOE The Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County is seeking Youth Development Specialist Paraprofessional Assistant applicants to be a part of our team.
We provide young people with a safe place to go before and after school.
We seek to ensure that all kids, especially those who need us most, have a positive and enriching experience, putting them on the path to success.

*Primary Function:* Assist before and/or after school youth members with disabilities who are receiving special education services by performing instructional assistant duties including modality-based academic instruction, physical education instruction, social skills instruction, behavioral modification and management, preparation of instructional materials, clerical tasks, supervision and related duties as assigned.
Implements youth development activities in the areas of STEM, academic and physical education enrichment programs.
Duties also include but are not limited to: creating lesson plans, facilitating enrichment classes, supervising youth all while being a positive role model.
*Qualifications:* * Available Monday through Friday for our Before and/or After School Programs depending on assignment * This is an in-person; year-round position * Available to attend our mandatory trainings * Reliable Transportation with insurance required; ability to get to all our Club sites * Experience working with children required * Ability to relate effectively with students who have special needs including developmental delays, specific learning disabilities, and various emotional and physical disabilities/health needs * Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems * Ability to communicate with youth and peers * Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth * Ability to organize and supervise youth members in a safe and fun environment * Can furnish proof that you are over 18 years of age * Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications * Current TB Test * Complete the NCLB Test or Proof of 60 College Units * Ability to pass a rigorous background check *Visit bgcslo.
