The candidate will be expected to provide leadership for the Public health and Health Science courses as well as the Associate Degree of Transfer (ADT) in Public Health and the pending Liberal Arts Degree in Health and Wellness.
In particular, the candidate will have responsibility for course development, maintenance of courses to align with changes in Transfer Model Curriculums (TMC), and program review.
In addition, the candidate will have additional college and divisional responsibilities as outlined below.
Teaching Responsibilities: Teaching begins with good preparation including choosing appropriate textbooks, writing a clear syllabus that outlines classroom expectations and content to be covered, and creating a plan for content delivery.
Part of teaching responsibilities also include determining the best way to assess student learning and student learning outcomes and assigning grades accordingly.
It also includes communicating with your students throughout the semester, being available during office hours, and identifying college services available for students, as appropriate.
Due to changes in delivery, all teachers are expected to become online teaching certified.
Given the needs of the department to offer online courses, all instructors are expected to complete an online teaching certification course in the Fall 2025 semester.
