00 Annually Job Type: Full Time Job Number: FY2324-00157 Location: All Campuses or other sites, CA Department: Instruction Closing: 3/31/2024 11:59 PM Pacific Job Description Summary The Kinesiology, Health Science, and Athletics Division at Cuesta College is seeking a Full-Time Tenure Track faculty member to teach in the Public Health and Health Sciences Departments.
The candidate will be expected to provide leadership for the Public health and Health Science courses as well as the Associate Degree of Transfer (ADT) in Public Health and the pending Liberal Arts Degree in Health and Wellness.
In particular, the candidate will have responsibility for course development, maintenance of courses to align with changes in Transfer Model Curriculums (TMC), and program review.
In addition, the candidate will have additional college and divisional responsibilities as outlined below.
Teaching Responsibilities: Teaching begins with good preparation including choosing appropriate textbooks, writing a clear syllabus that outlines classroom expectations and content to be covered, and creating a plan for content delivery.
Part of teaching responsibilities also include determining the best way to assess student learning and student learning outcomes and assigning grades accordingly.
It also includes communicating with your students throughout the semester, being available during office hours, and identifying college services available for students, as appropriate.
Due to changes in delivery, all teachers are expected to become online teaching certified.
Given the needs of the department to offer online courses, all instructors are expected to complete an online teaching certification course in the Fall 2025 semester.
College or Departmental Responsibilities: Developing or updating curriculum Serving on college committees (Participatory Governance) Program review Peer evaluation and hiring committees Scheduling and working with PT Instructors in the department Liaise with community about curriculum changes, job opportunities, or scholarship opportunities for students Collegial or professional and ethical conduct Distance Education Certification (at least by Fall 2025) Additional information: Selected applicants will be asked to interview for a full-time tenure track position as a Public Health and Health Science professor in the Public Health and Health Sciences Departments either Monday, May 13 or Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Second interviews will be held via Zoom on Friday, May 16, 2024.
The selected applicant will begin their full-time teaching assignment in the 2024-2025 school year which begins on August 6, 2024.
Assignments may be day, evening, or online classes on the San Luis Obispo Campus, North County Campus in Paso Robles, South County Center in Arroyo Grande, other sites within San Luis Obispo County, or Distance Education.

html Essential Functions & Qualifications Required: -Master's in public health, health science, health education, nursing, nutrition, dietetics, exercise science, kinesiology, biology, or physical education from an accredited institution; OR -Bachelor's in any of the above from an accredited institution AND Master's in any biological science from an accredited institution; OR -The equivalent.
