*Purpose and Responsibilities* This role revitalizes the county’s IPV task force by conducting outreach, training, and coordination to enhance the collaborative response for survivors of intimate partner violence.
In addition, the Law Enforcement Administrator & Client Advocate provides crisis counseling, advocacy, and accompaniment services to community members who call or walk-in to Lumina Alliance.
*Job Duties* *Outreach, Training, and Coordination* * Provide project oversight and leadership in developing innovative strategies to bridge communication gaps between victim services and law enforcement; maintain best practices * Represent Lumina Alliance at bi-monthly IPV Task Force meetings * Coordinate with IPV Task Force and community partners to maintain relationships among the team * Assess participation of agency partners across the multidisciplinary team and bolster participation through direct outreach and relationship building * Assists with the development and improvement of protocols for responding to incidents of IPV * Act as liaison between Lumina Alliance and law enforcement departments in San Luis Obispo County; Serves as a point of contact for LE in maintaining a process for inter-agency accountability * Develop culturally-sensitive outreach materials including print, social media, traditional media, and web content * Provide outreach to traditionally underserved populations, specifically Latine and LGBTQ communities and provides culturally sensitive services to survivors * Develop and facilitate trainings to law enforcement, partner agencies, and other identified first responders within SLO County * Collaborates in the creation of practical administrative tools/resources for officers responding to incidents of IPV.
Collaborates to create outreach materials for LE distribution to IPV survivors * Assist with coordination of the Crisis Services Team *Direct Client Services* * Provide crisis counseling, intervention, and case management services to clients during office hours, both in-person and on the telephone * Provide primary and backup shifts on the after-hours Crisis & Information line, as needed * Provide criminal justice and personal advocacy services to clients * Accompany clients to SART Exams, law enforcement interviews, shelter intakes, court appointments, and in other situations, as needed * Provide minimal client transportation, as needed * Maintain and update client database * Participate in regular all-staff meetings and other Lumina Alliance meetings.
* Complete other tasks as assigned by the Client Services Director or Chief Program Officer *Key Qualifications* * High school diploma or GED; Preferred associates degree in related field, human services, psychology, social sciences or sociology and/or education or experience working in victim services * Knowledge of sexual assault and intimate partner violence issues, social systems, cultural awareness, listening skills, and basic crisis intervention techniques highly preferred *Preferred Characteristics* * Possess strong leadership, facilitation, outreach, and public-speaking skills * Bilingual and bi-literate (English/Spanish) preferred * Excellent interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain work relationships * Flexible, compassionate, and a team player * Able to work independently with little direct supervision and have excellent problem-solving skills * Able to think clearly and respond appropriately in crisis situations * Maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitivity to client needs * Able to work effectively with diverse groups of people * Willingness to work flexible hours * Possess strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines * Experience with MS Office and Google Workspace; can learn new technologies and software *Requirements* * Must satisfactorily pass a Live Scan background check, paid for by employer * Completion of Lumina Alliance’s 65-hr California State Certified Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Crisis Counselor Training (provided as on-the-job training) * Must have reliable transportation *Position Title:* Law Enforcement Administrator & Client Advocate *Reports to:* Client Services Director *Hours:* 40 hours/week, full time, Non-Exempt *Location:* San Luis Obispo County *Salary Range*: $26.
