Since the first doors opened in 1966 Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast has a strong reputation for providing safe, educational, and fun programs for local youth between the ages of 5-18.

* *The Director of Teen Services (DTS) is responsible for developing and implementing successful programming, services and outreach to teens throughout the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast service area on a daily basis that ensures the safety of teen youth and prepares them for success.
This role plans, develops, evaluates and oversees the implementation of a broad range of programs for teens in the “5 Core Areas” of programming (character & leadership development, education & career development, the arts, health & life skills, and sports, fitness & recreation), develops mentoring programs with the goal of creating a program that enables teens to make positive decisions and grow into successful leaders in their community.
The DTS will maintain an appropriate standard within the teen population, train teen program staff and volunteers, and be able to build positive relationships with youth and parents.
Most work is conducted in a Club setting, both indoors and outdoors.
* *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* *PROGRAMMING* * Create and establish organization-wide teen programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
* Develop strategies for providing youth with new skills in the 5 Core Areas.
* Establish program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.
* Oversee the development of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
* Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
* Recommend and request supplies needed for the assigned area.
* Provide supervision, training and support to Teen Development Professionals.
* Monitor the success of teen programs.
* Set global expectations for all teen members fairly and consistently in alignment with club policies and procedures.
* Responsible for creating a culture of accountability with Teen Youth Development Professionals within each teen program.
* Ensure that team members hold teen members accountable for behavior choices while coaching and communicating the benefits of making better choices.
* Ensure safety and respectful behavior during all off-site and out of Club teen activities.
* Ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensure that programs and activities respond to member needs.
* Ability to create and operate within the program budget.
* Responsible for establishing an outreach plan and program to Jr Highs & High Schools in our service areas.
* Facilitate Work-based Learning .
* Responsible for facilitating the Youth of the Year program in all service areas.
* Facilitate Coastal area Council Youth of the Year program.
*STRATEGIC PLANNING* * Responsible for creating and aligning teen strategic plans to meet organizational goals and objectives.
* Oversee teen program outcomes.
* Establish and lead an outreach program in middle and high schools in all service areas.
* Seek new activities within the communities and inside the Clubhouses.
* Coordinate special events including family nights, field trips, and staff development meetings/trainings.
* Build positive relationships with all teen members, staff, and relevant local community members.
* Collaborate with the Site Directors to provide new hire training to staff working with teens.
* Meet regularly with each Club Unit’s teen members to keep an open line of communication regarding, but not limited to, Club program needs, home, friends, academic progress, and goals for after high school graduation.
* Work in collaboration with Site Directors to complete teen staff reviews, including monthly coaching meetings.
* Identify and engage at least three teens per Area in the annual Youth of the Year organizational competition, helping them to prepare for success.
If one should advance to State, prepare them for the additional requirements and submissions involved.
* Communicate and model the club values.
* Provide ongoing guidance and mentoring to teen staff and members when appropriate.
* Embody the positive attitude and self-confidence that ensures success while having fun.
*BUILDING MANAGEMENT* * Work in collaboration with each Club & Area Director to maintain a clean and tour ready building and ensure a productive environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
* Manage teen staff in a manner that holds teens accountable for club cleanliness.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.
00 - $25.
