*Position Overview *
The Worship Music Leader will demonstrate a commitment to Jesus Christ while developing and leading a music ministry that enhances the worship of God and the entire worship experience of Saint John’s Lutheran Church.
The Worship Music Leader will be accountable to the Pastor on a day-to-day basis as a member of the worship ministry team.
As a member of church staff, the Worship Music Leader will also engage cooperatively with other staff members, the church Council, and the congregation as a whole.
*Areas of Responsibility*
* Development and implementation of music for a mid-week or evening service, which will be separate from current Sunday services.
* Support music at the 9:30am service.
* Recruitment of musicians as necessary.
* Coordinate with the Pastor and assist with music involving special or seasonal services.
* Coordinate and lead rehearsal time for the above musical commitments.
* Coordinate and interface with personnel of the Audio-Visual booth.
*Personal Attributes, Knowledge, and Skills required:*
* Committed, vibrant faith in Christ with a passion for worship and evangelism.
* Good verbal and written communication.
* Ability to consider, assess and implement new and innovative methods or programs to enhance the music ministry of the church.
* Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Skill in music selection and music direction.
* Familiarity with contemporary worship music.
*Experience and Training*
* Proficiency in voice and at least one instrument, either piano or guitar.
* Previous experience as a Worship Music Leader preferred, but not required.
* Previous experience leading groups of musicians preferred, but not required.
*Compensation*
* Starting at 8 hours per week at $30 per hour, with possibility for growth and expansion.
