About This Position
The Supply Chain Manager Leads and administers activities of the Purchasing Organization in support of all procurement requirements for direct/indirect material, contracts, and licensing agreements.
The Supply Chain Manager identifies, suggests, and implements the development of purchasing strategies (annual cost reductions) and systems in collaboration with and under supervision of the Director of Supply Chain.
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for reviewing, vetting, and generating documents to support complex objectives and future purchases.
Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and support purchasing personnel to implement values and objectives in achieving corporate goals and optimum performance.
Ensure and establish performance and development goals of team members in alignment with organization objectives
Establish and/or oversee purchasing department training as required.
Assigns purchasing and scheduling duties based on business requirements.
Demonstrated and utilizes negotiation skills to establish contracts/terms with suppliers to drive purchase price variance savings, while balancing landed cost and inventory.
Aligns purchasing organization with strategic sourcing initiatives, specifically in spend consolidation and low cost regions.

Organize, analyze, and report data including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Works with production leadership daily to monitor status and scheduling in order to obtain on-time delivery of products based on information provided by planning and purchasing teams.
Inputs and maintains data into various systems and creates/prepares reports for supplier meetings.
Works proactively to optimize supply chain operations through creative solutions acting alone and in collaboration with others.
Identify and develop suppliers that can meet technical, cost and affordability objectives.
Review suppliers’ capability, capacity, and overall financial standing.
Apply standard Aerospace and Defense purchasing / procurement methodology to spend categories to achieve organizational objectives.
Develops sourcing strategies; solicits / analyzes request for proposals; negotiates contracts and coordinates supplier integration plan with internal customers.
Monitors market dynamics and communicates changes that affect internal customer needs.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree AND 10+ years of related experience that includes a background in Supply Chain Management and/or Program/Project/Business Management OR Masters degree AND 5+ years of experience that includes a background in Supply Chain Management and/or Program/Project/Business Management
8+ years of procuring complex systems and assemblies in a similar environment
Demonstrated ability establishing long-term agreements, teaming agreements, blanket agreements, vendor managed inventory (VMI), and negotiating favorable terms and conditions
Ability to interpret engineering, production and quality requirements and establish Statements of Work, and or Sub-contracts
Lead and support CostPoint enhancements and testing of new software (e.
g.
Supplier Portal, Content Management, DFAR Flowdown, etc)
Aerospace experience preferred
Proven Experience with Supplier Assessment, Qualification and Development preferred
Strong Negotiation skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite and various MRP/ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
Solid understanding of Production Planning and Production Scheduling
Advanced knowledge of supply chain management techniques and practices
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors
