SESLOC Federal Credit Union is seeking a Financial Controller who is more than just a whiz with numbers.
In addition to keen knowledge of financial reporting, accounting procedures and internal controls, the successful applicant will be a collaborative team member who is invested in building relationships with stakeholders from across the credit union.

Job Summary:
The Controller will be responsible for directing, coordinating, maintaining, and controlling an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the Credit Union.
Responsible for safeguarding Credit Union assets.
Administers the Credit Union's fiscal record keeping.
Ensures the accurate internal and external recording and reporting of financial transactions.
Prepares reports for Senior Management, the board of directors, auditors/examiners, external users, and government agencies.
Oversees budgeting, cost accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, fixed asset, accounts receivable, branch statistical reporting, ATM balancing, Internal Audit scheduling, accounting information systems, and supports some payroll functions.
Forecast capital needs and cash flows, monitor their performance, analyze results and recommend adjustments.
Ensure investment purchases and sales are recorded timely, accurately, and in accordance with investment guidelines.
Monitors department policies and procedures and recommends improvements.
Serves as a resource in all aspects of accounting.
Ensures that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Credit Union procedures.
Assigns, directs, and appraises accounting staff.
Ensures that the Accounting Department supports the overall goals of the Credit Union and that Accounting services are delivered professionally and efficiently.
Educations/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business; or equivalent combination of education and experience required that includes accounting and financial theory.
CPA license or MBA preferred.
Knowledge of financial activities, policies, procedures, and systems obtained by five to eight years of accounting experience in a financial institution or similar organization with at least three years' experience in a supervisory role.
