Under the direct supervision of the Materials & Stores Supervisor II, CF, this position will assist or provide coverage in the Clothing Distribution, Recycling and Salvage Program, Maintenance Warehouse, Garage and other Support Warehouse positions as needed for institutional work load.
This position is responsible for utilizing the SAP/BIS program for purchasing, receiving, delivering, storing and issuing of materials for the areas they are covering.
Maintain order and supervise the conduct of inmates assigned to the respective area.
Inform Supervisors of any issues or problems that may arise.
Act in the capacity of the Materials & Stores Supervisor II in his/her absence.

Mininum Qualifications: Either I One year of experience performing the duties of a Stock Clerk, Warehouse Worker (Correctional Facility) or Warehouse Worker in California state service.
Or II Two years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse in work involving the receipt and issuance of large volume of varied commodities.
(Experience in California state service applied toward this requirement must include at least one year in a class at a level of responsibility at least equivalent to Stock Clerk.

CMC has two physically separated housing complexes, commonly referred to as “East” and “West”.
An emphasis is placed on providing all inmates with programs for self-improvement.
These programs include academic and vocational education, work skills in prison industries and inmate self-help groups.
The Level III housing complex (East), which houses medium security general population inmates, is divided into four facilities.
Each facility has its own dining room, classrooms, athletic fields, and two three-story housing units.
The East housing complex has a fully licensed Correctional Treatment Center as well as a fully licensed 50 bed Mental Health Crisis Unit.
The Level I and II housing complex (West) houses minimum security general population inmates in dormitory settings within three separate facilities.
In addition, the West housing complex contains a Level I camp program for fire suppression, conservation and other community service work.
