Position Summary
The Pharmacist dispenses all medications to patients including inpatient unit doses, intravenous admixtures, hyperalimentation, chemotherapy, and outpatient prescriptions to assure patients get appropriate drugs in a timely manner.
Oversees the filling of all stock requisitions to assure appropriate handling.
Provides clinical pharmacy service including drug information, Drug Usage Evaluation data collection, pharmacokinetic dosing, IV to P.
O.
conversion, nutritional support consultations, and adverse drug reaction monitoring to provide patients with appropriate clinical pharmacy service on a daily basis.
Records data and controls all pharmacy records to assure appropriate information is available for reporting purposes through QRS.
Completes assigned “Nursing Unit Audits”, and all drug storage and usage areas to assure that medications are properly stored and handled throughout the hospital.
Accepts any special studies or projects assigned by the Director to assist interdepartmental efficiency.
Functions independently and as a team member.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Must have a Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy.
Must have a minimum of two years previous hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an accredited Residency program.
Computer literate in Excel, WordPerfect and Word software is a must.
Demonstrate familiarity with unit dose, IV Admixture, computer applications, and Clinical Pharmacy Practice.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid California State Board of Pharmacy License that is in good standing.
Pay range: $65.
