We are looking for an intermediate rider to do an on-site half lease (2 days/week) with our Quarter Horse gelding, ’Smartee’.
He is a "young" 23yr old, 14.
2hh gelding who is in good health, and built like a little tank.
The ideal person would be someone looking to get some quality horse time with an old soul, to help keep him moving and comfortable.
Smartee is very well trained and currently enjoys life as my husband's trusty western trail horse.
He spent most of his "younger years" showing as a reining cow horse, and more recently has spent the last few years working 4 days a week as a children's lesson horse (both Western & English disciplines).
He has been the steed who taught my husband how to ride, and is a sweet, reliable, one of a kind gelding with no vices.
He neck reins, has a 'been there, done that' attitude, and still a lot of go for his age.
Not much phases this guy! He is an excellent trail horse, while also versatile in the arena.
He is currently located off of Carpenter Canyon Road (227) between SLO & AG, with access to an arena, a round pen, and 200+ acres of trail riding.
All tack (Western) will be provided for Smartee! Leaser will not be responsible for board, feed or any maintenance veterinary/farrier visits.
