SLO Marketplace Retail Accountant

```Job Overview``` We are seeking a highly motivated and Retail Accountant to join our team.
As a Retail Accountant, you will be responsible for recording transactions such as expenses and sales revenue for our SLO Marketplace Retail store.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment and contribute to the success of our store.
- Processing payments to utilities and vendors to pay for suppliers, materials and other expenses - Sending bills to customers to request payment for services or goods provided - Reconciling accounts and making note of debits and credits that have not posted - Process payroll and initiate direct deposits to pay employees - Generating financial reports as requested - Identifying and correcting any errors that occur due to date entry - Daily cash deposits reconciling to POS totals - Demonstrate organizational skills to keep information from various accounts seperate - Multitasking ability to work on multiple tasks throughout the day - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Time management skills to ensure reports are completed and payments are received on time - Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Skills: - Operating data terminal calculators and other standard office equipment - Balance sheet reconciliation: Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts accurately.
- Journal entries: Proficiency in recording financial transactions into the general ledger using journal entries.
- Financial concepts: Familiarity with key financial concepts such as revenue, expenses, profit margin, etc.
- Performing clerical work and interoffice support including receiving and processing mail - Payroll: Knowledge of payroll processes and calculations.
- Tax: Understanding of basic tax regulations applicable to retail sales.
- GAAP: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for accurate financial reporting.
- Financial accounting: Proficiency in maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial statements.
- Invoicing and reconciliation for varying departments.
