Assistant Coordinator - Marketing (Creative Operations) Definition and Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator II — Public Relations, Communications, & Marketing the Assistant Coordinator — Marketing (Creative Operations) oversees ASI’s creative production needs in the development and implementation of the ASI brand and marketing collateral across print and digital marketing media for ASI’s promotional campaigns, social media platforms, and website.
This position oversees the creative team responsible for production of these materials and campaigns.
Additionally, all ASI employees are responsible for upholding the core values of the organization including but not limited to exhibiting professional behavior, acting as a role model to others, displaying a positive and cooperative attitude, communicating effectively, developing expert knowledge in area of specialization, and working together as a team.
Educational and Qualifying Experience, Skills, Licenses, Credentials Educational/License/Credential Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Graduation from a four-year college or university preferred (8 years applicable experience may be substituted for educational requirement).
Experience Requirements Minimum one (1) year professional marketing and communications experience, three (3) years preferred that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Art or creative direction experience preferred Knowledge/Skill Requirements Thorough knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
General knowledge of office methods, equipment, procedures, and practices.
Ability to be highly organized and have great time management and planning skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with copy accuracy.
Proficient in content marketing and editing.
Working knowledge of applicable laws pertaining to written and electronic materials, confidentiality, and news media, including libel/slander, copyright, and privacy laws.
Working knowledge of methods and materials used in graphic design, photography/videography, web, and electronic media production.
Photography skills preferred.
Ability to define and deliver message; ability to present information that meets the requirements of the media and publications involved and that is designed for audiences of varying interests.
Proficient in content marketing and editing.
Demonstrated experience in social and digital media.
Experience with graphic design, marketing, advertising, journalism, or public relations preferred.
Experience with administration, supervision, leadership, or management.
Experience with ASI program participation preferred.
General knowledge of ADA document creation and web compliance.
General knowledge of program services.
Ability to be a self-starter and work effectively under pressure.
Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds, specific needs, or limitations.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise ASI student photographer/videographer position(s).
Supervise ASI lead graphic designer position(s).
Supervise ASI student graphic designer position(s) Facilitate meetings, conduct performance evaluations, establish goals, and monitor day-to-day operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Responsibilities: Assist with ensuring that all ASI program identity standards, professionalism, and consistency are maintained and met through production of collateral material, display cases, promotional material, and marketing information.
Assist with the development, implementation, and revisions of the ASI Marketing/Communication Plan.
Provide marketing consultation or training to student and professional staff.
Provide mentorship, training, and content coordination with program area and/or ASI Student Government representatives.
Coordinate and/or assist with program area assessment efforts.
Assist in the coordination of marketing for ASI programs and services.
Work with Coordinator II — Public Relations, Communications, & Marketing to develop and implement creative and original marketing strategies and tactics.
Adhere to and enforce all ASI departmental policies and procedures.
Ensure a safe environment for all participants.
Maintain familiarity with evacuation plan for work area.
Creative Production: Responsible for the production of original visual materials for ASI Public Relations, Communications, & Marketing, including but not limited to digital, social media, public relations, and various marketing materials.
Assist in the creation, editing, and production of visual, video, and photo content.
Assist with editing visuals for ASI Programs and ASI Managed-Facilities including emails, press releases, social media posts, digital and print assets, and various marketing materials.
Create and disseminate digital content, including but not limited to the ASI website, apps, -newsletters, and presentations for ASI programs and services.
Manage visual content and development needs for the ASI website.
Post and deliver marketing materials.
Collaborate with ASI graphic designers, photographers, and videographers on marketing campaigns and collateral material.
Research and implement trends in marketing.
Project Management: Manage organization digital project platforms, providing project management, review, and approvals, and training to platform users.
Responsible for calendar management for department deadlines.
Administer ASI Social Media Marketing Strategy across all social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and Snap Chat.
Provide lead work direction as well as take and impart instructions.
Provide quality customer service for all staff and customers.
Collaborate with other program areas.
Assessment Develop and execute assessment of programs and/or services for areas of responsibility including, but not limited to, setting and implementing goals, evaluating outcomes, and ongoing enhancement.
Participate in the overall ASI assessment planning and goal setting.
Diversity and Inclusion Recommend and support practices intended to eliminate racial, gender, or any other form of bias in processes, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrate awareness of one’s own biases, comfort levels, and various aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Demonstrate effort to understand each person’s individual and collective role in creating inclusive environments.
Commit to continuous learning/improvement in DEI and cultural competence.
Work with director to review department’s policies, procedures, & practices related to DEI and participate in addressing barriers identified.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Represent ASI on committees as appropriate.
Attend and participate in meetings, as necessary.
Ensure continuous professional development.
The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in ASI policy as a condition of their employment.
Other duties as assigned.
Period of Employment Employment with this organization is of an "at will" nature, which means that the employee may resign at any time and ASI may discharge the employee at any time with or without cause.
Background Check This position is subject to a background check (including criminal records) as well as National Address Locater (Social Security Number [SSN] Trace), 7-year County Criminal Search in each county and/or state the applicant lived in based on the SSN Trace, National Criminal Database Search, Name Search, Employment Verification (All employers in past 7 years) and Education Verification (Highest Degree).
Credit Reports, Motor Vehicle Record Check and Professional License Verification may also be required based upon the essential functions of the position.
Salary Schedule Starting Hourly Rate: $27.
70 Pay Range for the Position: $27.
70–$44.
