Planner/Estimator/Scheduler - University Housing Job No: 531738 Work Type: Staff Location: San Luis Obispo Categories: Unit 9 - CSUEU - Technical Support Services, Administrative, Probationary, Full Time Job Summary The incumbent in this position is a member of the University Housing team.
In conjunction with the Executive Director, Associate Directors and other managers, staff, and students, this position assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of University Housing.
The incumbent is responsible for supporting and contributing to an atmosphere that facilitates respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
Under the general supervision of the University Housing Facilities Assistant Director of Planning and Support Services (PSS), the Planner/Estimator/Scheduler will perform a full range of planning, estimating and scheduling functions and provide project management support for a wide range of University Housing construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects.
The incumbent in this position will function as key facilitator and expeditor throughout projects, collaborate with a variety of constituents, provide reports and analysis of project information, and provide project management support.
Department Summary University Housing (UH), a unit within the Division of Student Affairs, consists of Facilities Operations, Housing Administration, Custodial Operations, Diversity and Inclusion, and Residential Student Experience.
University Housing provides a premier living and learning experience for over 8800 students in residence hall and apartment-style communities.

Key Qualifications Knowledge of a wide range of facility management operations and demonstrated ability to respond to various inquiries related to assuring continuous progress to bring jobs to completion.
General knowledge of building materials, costing procedures and the sequential methods of modern construction practices.
General knowledge of building codes, laws, ordinances and regulations, and trades applicable to building construction, maintenance and repair.
Ability to write complete and concise specifications which accompany plans for contract jobs.
Knowledge of the time required for performing various segments of construction and maintenance work, in order to properly schedule work.
Ability to advise on interior design factors including space planning, layout and utilization of furniture, and color coordination.
Education and Experience Education and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in engineering, architecture, business management, plant management, industrial technology or public administration, AND two years of journey level experience in one or more building or mechanical craft trades (additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis).
Licenses, Certificates, Credentials: Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
May require the ability to obtain AHERA Supervisor certification for asbestos related work and Cal/OSHA Lead training as well as the ability to wear respiratory protection.
