*Position Summary*
A core member of our Data Center support team providing primary Operations in customer datacenters.
The Data Center Support Technician (DCST) is responsible for supporting customers, provides routine maintenance oversight and monitoring of Data Center Infrastructure.
This position will help provide installations and respond to Customer and Data Center Infrastructure alarms.
The role will deliver high level Customer Satisfaction along with timely and accurate Support Ticket completion.
The DCST will ensure work will be properly scheduled, in keeping with prescribed periodicities and schedules.
Contractor work will be accomplished under direct supervision by the DCST or supporting staff.
The DCST will ensure all work performed strictly adheres to H5 policies, guidelines, and standards.
This position reports to the Facility Manager.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
· Provide 1st & 2nd level support to assist in the diagnosis and resolution of customer incidents
· Develops, enhances and maintains documentation for use in problem analysis and resolution (Includes RCAs and follow-up)
· Register customers into the site Security Access Control System.
Can also sign-in vendors and visitors to provide access and escort to the facility and data hall
· Perform Remote Hands services for customers including; hardware installation, power strips, rails, cable management and customer equipment troubleshooting/reboots
· Support Service Order installation and cross-connect troubleshooting
· Perform installation, termination, testing and labeling of cross connects and provide remote hands services
· Performs Security and facility walkthroughs/ rounds
· Perform Installation of cage, cabinets, cabling and fiber tray
· Available during unscheduled days or shift times for emergency coverage
· Participate in Infrastructure MOP’s and proper execution
· Properly receive and log items in and out of Shipping & Receiving

*Knowledge/Skills required*
· Some college preferred
· 2+ years hands on Telecommunications or Data Center experience
· Operational experience with security systems, BMS, monitoring and performance
· Proficient with cross connect circuit troubleshooting, media and test equipment
· Fundamental understanding of data center best practices and cabling standards
· Timely Data Center infrastructure equipment alarm acknowledgement and response
· Excellent written and spoken interpersonal communication skills
· Generate, update, and resolve support tickets with direction from senior staff as needed
· Ability to work independently, adjust priorities and handle multiple projects
· Exhibit quality workmanship for all tasks and maintain Data Center space cleanliness
· Basic understanding of data center electrical power generation and distribution, mechanical support equipment such as HVAC, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), fire detection and suppression, building management and security systems
· Knowledgeable and capable with Security Access Control System and NOC monitoring applications.
· Proficient in MS Office, Email and Monitoring System reporting tools.
· The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
