Your Mission:
As an IT System Administrator, you'll be the maestro behind the scenes, providing support for a spectrum of software and hardware projects.
Your role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure, empowering City of Morro Bay employees to deliver top-notch services to the public.
A Day in the Life:
Picture yourself sorting through 50ish emails, closing 5-10 helpdesk tickets, documenting changes, unlocking 1-2 user accounts, and researching new hardware and software solutions.
Add answering familiar questions with a smile and planning exciting project implementations.
In our small (but mighty) division of 2, versatility is key, and documentation is our saving grace.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct technical research, support, and training for hardware, software, and networks.
Assist our users with all their IT needs.
Implement and maintain software and hardware systems, offering user training.
Oversee citywide installation, repair, and maintenance of IT components.
Collaborate with vendors and monitor service results.
Coordinate departmental data processing and automation activities.
Uphold the organization's values with a strong customer service orientation.
Perform technical work designing, implementing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the City of Morro Bay Information Systems infrastructure.
️ Specialized Expertise:
Networking, server, storage, database, software, security, and backup systems.
Provide technical guidance on information technology and strategic planning.
Independently perform work under the supervision of the Information Technology Manager.
