Civil Associate Project Manager Established General/Engineering Contractor seeking motivated, professional, and career minded Civil Construction Associate Project Manager.
Job Summary As an Associate Project Manager, you will be assigned a variety of projects to plan and supervise from start to finish with oversight from Senior PM or Division Manager.
This position must possess the willingness and skills to effectively fulfill the duties outlined below which enhance the probability of success on the projects undertaken by the Company.
Duties and Responsibilities * Prepares subcontracts, purchase orders and oversees procurement process.
* Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, and field personnel, providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with client base.
* Attends and leads project meetings, including progress and pre-construction.
* Organization of and written documentation of all RFI’s/Submittals/Schedules/Change Orders/Claims/and Correspondence * Create and track monthly progress billings to be submitted to owner * Development of CPM schedules with monthly schedule updates and associated narratives, along with creating weekly look ahead schedules to be provided to owners.
* APM takes ownership & responsibility for the projects under his/her control * Manages and/or coordinates Company personnel and resource; may be required to provide mentorship to Project Engineers with clarity which develops their skill set toward techniques and tasks that meaningfully support a Project Manager.
* Manage and be responsible for the field superintendents and foreman who supervise and direct in-house craft labor & subcontractors.
When in the field, inspect ongoing work for conformity to the Contract Documents, assist superintendents with task problem solving, reinforce project safety which may include Written Warnings to personnel for safety &/or behavioral deficiencies.
* A willingness to seek project harmony with fair dealings and customer satisfaction while striving to maintain SCI’s interest in profitability, quality work and professional performance.
* Professional performance that assists SCI with promoting and maintaining a positive and competitive image in the community by maintaining core beliefs of Safety, Quality & Integrity.
* Attend pre-construction job walks and analyze the elements necessary to formulate constructability * Exhibit a level of proficiency to breakdown project plans into work sequences compatible with the project bid items * Ability to perform accurate takeoffs, gather material pricing lists, contacting material suppliers/ subcontractors for price quotes.
* The ability to discern and ascertain elements of risk unique to each project based on the Owner supplied data (plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, environmental mitigation parameters, ect.
) * Have an understanding of sophisticated process equipment and the ability to communicate with vendors and suppliers to understand the cost associated with proper installation and operation Qualifications and Skills/Abilities * Proficiency with all MS office products, Procore, Blue Beam, and Hard Dollar or Heavy Bid * Understanding of scheduling software, Primavera P6 * Working knowledge of civil construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline.
* Maintain ability to work in high production environment * Excellent leadership skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Good math/accounting skills * Functions effectively as part of a team * Strong decision making/problem solving skills Education and/or Experience * Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education and experience required * 3-5 years of Heavy Civil construction experience on private and public works projects Benefits Salary is based on experience and assignment, base salary range is $85,000.
