We are seeking Field Locators for long term contracts.
Territories are:
San Luis Obispo - Los Angeles
Los Angeles Metro Loop E West Side
San Jose - San Luis Obispo
San Francisco - San Jose
MUST be willing to move around as needed.
Mileage is reimbursed.
Monday-Saturday 10 hours/day (60 hours/week)
$52/hour W2
Key Responsibilities:
Install and repair the fiber/telecom cable.
Requires work on/with crews on railways and/or public highways, pipelines, rights of way.
On-site Inspector/ Locator who will maintain the integrity of assets, locate facilities, provide daily reports to the Construction Manager, and work closely with the construction crew monitoring progress and quality.
Responsible for providing location services for the existing facilities (duct, cable, handholes) and monitoring any construction that takes place around facilities.
Inspector/ Locator will be responsible for completing daily and weekly production reports, completing dig-up reports, maintaining sequential fiber placement documentation for newly placed cable, capturing GPS locations for all handholes, and updating KML files in Google Earth.
The inspector will also be a liaison for meetings with local municipalities, ROW owners, and property owners.
Qualifications:
Must be willing to go where assigned.
Background in Utility Construction, Field Location, Field Inspection, POTS Technician, Telecom Technician, Aerial, Etc.
Valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License – we’ll have to run a MVR
Preferably have used a utility locator like HDSU 3000
Preferably have the ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
