Drivers Needed! (San Luis Obispo)

Shower the People has provided 20,000 showers for homeless people in our community from our mobile shower trailer.
To keep our show on the road, we need drivers who can take our trailer to and from our shower sites.
Volunteer Job Description: As a driver, you set up the trailer on arrival—leveling it with jacks, chocking the wheels—and do some of the initial mechanical set-up, including getting the electrical system up and running, hooking up hoses or starting the water pump, and laying out a grey water disposal hose.
You also do a little bookkeeping (keeping track of odometer readings and any mechanical issues).
After a roughly 3½-hour shift of giving showers to guests, you help shut down the trailer and drive it back to our parking location in SLO where you secure it for the next driver.
Some drivers also work as a greeter or shower cleaner once the trailer is on-site, but this is optional: you could also relax or go elsewhere until it’s time to pack up and take the trailer back.
We operate five days a week at four sites in SLO and Grover Beach.
You can sign up for as many or as few individual shifts as you would like.
You do not need any special driver's license.
A regular California driver's license and a reasonably clean driving record is sufficient.
We will train you and give you an experienced buddy your first couple of times out.
