We are looking for a hard-working, independent, and friendly person to fill a full-time position of Paralegal/Legal Assistant in our Legal Department.
We are hiring a civil litigation team member to work in a high production team environment, working with attorneys in the preparation of legal forms.
The work environment consists of working with a small team of paralegals and legal clerks producing legal documentation in the enforcement of judgments.
*Principle Responsibilities of the Paralegal include:*
* Communication with different courts
* Communication with attorneys
* Legal research
* Drafting correspondence, motions, and pleadings
* Production and assembly of legal documents and forms
* Document review
* File court documents through e-file
* Maintaining legal calendar
* Data entry
* Conduct verification of service and judgment
* Copy and prepare legal documents to comply with court standards
* Performs skip tracing and maintains case files
* Filing, photo copying, scanning
* Obtain information from files, law enforcement agencies and other sources to submit complete legal documents
* Produce documents within Microsoft word, and Excel, ensures proper formatting, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
* Demonstrate a keen knowledge of office equipment (including computer, printers, facsimile, photo copiers)
* Demonstrate compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the collection industry
* Adhere to company policies and procedures
* Perform other duties as assigned by management
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Law office/;egal experience
* Knowledge and understanding of Civil Procedure, Discovery, court rules
* Paralegal Certification preferred or on the job experience in the legal field
* Paralegal experience, preferably in civil litigation
* Detail oriented
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
* Strong proofreader for grammar, spelling and punctuation
* Experience preparing legal documents (forms)
* Ability to multi-task
* Ability to prioritize tasks
* Self-motivated and ability to prioritize and organize work
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
*Required education*
· High school or equivalent
* Paralegal Certification preferred or on the job experience

Pay: $18.
