Are looming filing deadlines stressing you out? Why lie awake worrying when effective writing assistance is readily available?
I attended and graduated from USC where I was president of my fraternity for two years and held a number of other campus leadership positions.
I was invited to join and completed studies in the Thematic Option Academic Honors Program (open to the top 5% of the entering class).
In 1986 I obtained my J.
D.
from the University of San Diego School of Law where I excelled in oral and written advocacy, was an officer of the Appellate Moot Court Board, and taught both contracts law and legal research and writing.
I then joined Hill, Farrer & Burrill, downtown LA's third oldest law firm, where I became an associate, and later, partner.
Initially, I was in the corporate-real estate department where I negotiated and concluded business and real estate transactions on behalf of individuals and entities.
After a couple of years, I transitioned to the trial department, where I quickly became lead trial counsel in jury trials representing entities in complex business and insurance coverage matters.
I was drawn to representing plaintiffs in tort matters, an area the firm had never practiced in.
Begrudgingly, the firm allowed me to dabble in that practice.
But it made them uncomfortable.
And I didn't want to just dabble in it.
So, eventually, in 2000, I resigned from the partnership and started my own practice.
My practice was focused on all aspects of tort claims.
As a sole practitioner, I was named a "Super Lawyer" by Los Angeles Magazine.
I was lead trial counsel in a matter in which we represented the plaintiff in a real estate development/fraud case against one of the largest real estate companies in the world.
The company had agreed to provide development financing to our client.
Two days before closing, the company refused to fund, claiming that the deal was not viable.
And two days later, the company put its own offer in on the property, closed the deal, and developed the project itself.
At the time, the settlement we obtained was the largest ever in the State of Hawaii.
To complement my experience, I've been trained and have acted as a court appointed and privately retained mediator in scores of cases.
While I no longer practice law, I have been and am increasingly hired by attorneys to handle writing assignments and the full spectrum of paralegal and trial preparation services.
My trial support understanding and experience is unmatched, and a key asset to the attorneys I write for.
On the phone and in person I am a convincing, pleasant, polished and persuasive presence.
I pay close attention to detail, take great pride in my work product, and love to convincingly prevail.
Think about how my skill can and will enhance your practice and the results you deliver to your clients.
Then let's explore working together.
All the best.
