Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Wellbeing and Health Equity, the Associate Director of Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services is responsible for assisting in the management of the violence prevention, education, and advocacy program, which includes crisis intervention and case management for students, faculty, and staff related to sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, and stalking.
The position also supports the campus Title IX Coordinator, who is responsible for compliance in these areas.
In addition, this position supports broad strategic planning efforts within the Wellbeing Department, including Health Education and Basic Needs.
The Associate Director will manage a team including a lead prevention specialist, confidential campus advocates, student staff, peer educators and volunteers.
The Associate Director develops and maintains campus collaborations and community partnerships to enhance campus wellbeing.
Department Summary Campus Health & Wellbeing provides comprehensive medical, psychological and holistic wellbeing services to support student success at Cal Poly.

Key Qualifications Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
Comprehensive knowledge of effective personnel management practices and supervisory skills, including motivation, training, professional development, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline, with the demonstrated ability to effectively model appropriate professional behavior.
Knowledge of current and emerging trends within the area of collegiate sexual misconduct prevention, Title IX regulations and victim advocacy.
Exceptional knowledge of the principles, problems, and methods of public administration, including organizational, personnel, program, and fiscal management.
Ability to effectively build coalitions to reach strategic goals; ability to promote positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive relations.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in public health, health promotion/prevention, student affairs, social work or other related discipline and five years of related professional experience working with college students, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Licenses, Certificates, Credentials: Incumbent will be expected to obtain rape crisis counselor and domestic violence crisis counselor certification within six months of the date of hire.
